My name is Natasha Powers and I live in the suburbs of Chicago. I have a wonderful boyfriend that I've been with for almost 10 years. We live in a nice, ranch-style home with our two cats Salem and Kit.
I started collecting dolls about 7 or 8 years ago and it's all my boyfriend's fault. We were shopping in K-Mart one day and we just happened to walk down the "Pink Aisle". That's where I saw the Wizard of Oz dolls and I commented on how much I like the Wizard of Oz and the dolls were really cute. Mike ended up getting me the entire set for Christmas that year. That was the beginning of the end! LOL I collected a lot of Barbie dolls over the next few years and I even got into the My Scene dolls. I had every single My Scene doll ever produced. Then a couple of years ago, I discovered the world of Fashion Royalty. I'm totally addicted to these perfect little fashion divas! So much so, that I've severely limited my purchases of other doll lines. I do collect a few Tonner and Gene dolls, but nothing like the passion I have for Fashion Royalty!
I've also been a very avid seamstress since I was old enough to thread a needle. I'm pretty much self taught and it's something that I just love to do! I started sewing for my dolls a couple of years after I started collecting, but my old, dinosaur of a sewing machine just wasn't capable of doing the kind of work that I wanted to produce. That's when my boyfriend bought me a brand new sewing machine! There was no turning back. I mainly sew very tailored, fitted clothing for the dolls. I like day wear, suits and jackets. I really sew a lot for the dolls the way I would want to dress if I had the same kind of body! I've sold a little on Ebay but I mostly sell my fashions (and now hats too!) on the message boards like Pink Parlor, Doll Divas, Prego and ICOG.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. If you see me on the message boards, feel free to say hi...and you just might see me at a Fashion Royalty convention soon!
